We are a Ghanaian tour company with one job: to make sure you see this country properly, safely, and with someone beside you who is glad you came.
Our story
Built from a habit of showing people around
Kuulboi Tours began the way a lot of good things in Ghana begin, with hospitality that got out of hand.
Friends visiting from abroad kept asking the same questions. Where should we go? Is it safe to take that road? Can you come with us? What began as favours for visitors turned into a proper company, because it became obvious that a lot of people arriving in Ghana wanted the same thing: someone local, reliable and enthusiastic to organise the trip and travel with them.
Today we run day tours from Accra, multi-day journeys the length of the country, and fully custom itineraries for families, couples, groups and solo travellers. We work with drivers we trust, guides at the sites we visit, and small businesses in the towns we pass through, because tourism should leave something behind in the places it visits.
We are not the biggest tour company in Ghana. We are the one that answers the phone.
Our mission
To give every visitor to Ghana a safe, well-organised and genuinely enjoyable experience of the country, at a price that is fair, with a guide who cares, and with none of the confusion that puts people off travelling here independently.
Our vision
To become the tour company people recommend to their friends when those friends say they are thinking of visiting Ghana, and to help Ghana be known abroad for far more than one or two famous sites.
Meet your guide
Yaw Kuulboi, founder and lead guide
Yaw has spent years travelling Ghana, first for the love of it and then professionally, and has guided visitors from across Africa, Europe, North America and Asia through the country’s forests, castles, markets and coastlines.
He handles the planning personally, and on most tours he is the one who meets you at your hotel. His approach is simple: know the history properly, know the roads, know where the good food is, and read what each group actually wants rather than reciting the same script to everyone.
For visitors from the diaspora making the journey to Cape Coast, Elmina or Assin Manso, he takes particular care over the pace of the day and the space people need.
